Rehabilitation of Ghezala and Melah Dams

Site Description:
- Ghezala Dam: Located on the Ghezala wadi near the town of Ghezala, 12 km west of Mateur. Inaugurated in 1984, this dam is a key infrastructure for the region.
- Melah Dam: Situated on the Melah wadi, southwest of Bizerte city, it was inaugurated in 2017 to meet the growing water management needs.
Scope of Work:
Injection and sealing works for the joints and cracks in the galleries of Ghezala and Melah dams.
Solutions Implemented:
- Drilling and Injection:
- Performing drilling and injecting a resin-based sealing material into cracks and joints to restore their waterproofing.
- Crack Treatment:
- Application and fixing of a membrane strip along the length of cracks and joints treated by injection.
- Reinforcement with Stainless Steel Plates:
- Installation and fixation of stainless steel plates on the membrane strips to provide additional and long-lasting protection.
- Rehabilitation of Auxiliary Equipment:
- Installation of the hoist rail system.
- Restoration of cable track paths for electrical systems.
